The old town is situated within an egg-shaped peninsula by the sea, webbed with steep streets and small squares, with the tower of St. Euphemia Church marking its highest point. Originally an island, it was connected to the mainland back in 1763 when the narrow channel was filled. Rovinj is a very picturesque town and is considered one of the most Instagrammable places. Its colorful houses are rising from the sea, whereas its steep pedestrian streets are full of art galleries, lively bars and restaurants by the very sea.
