At the largest surviving historic armoury in the world, around 32,000 exhibits can be admired in the Landeszeughaus – including weapons, tools and armour. Its origins date back to the 17th century. At that time, the weapons store was the most important "equipment headquarters" in the south-eastern part of the Habsburg Empire. Testimony to a time of conflict, today it is part of the Universalmuseum Joanneum.
