Cultural Places at the #MWC22 in Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona was calling! This year we had a booth at the world’s biggest event for innovation and connectivity, the Mobile World Congress (#MWC22). Read on to get on overview of the fair and to learn more about our experience there.

The MWC Barcelona is the world’s most influential event for the connectivity industry. Under the motto “reconnect, reimagine, and reinvent”, leading international companies and trailblazers share the latest thought about the progression and future of connectivity. The fair is also a great place for networking opportunities, as its attendees are the crème de la crème of the mobile and tech industry. All major brands are represented there, such as Microsoft, Samsung, T-Mobile, Huawei, Orange, and many more.

As the exhibition area at Fira Barcelona is huge, there are many halls and booths to be discovered (Note: a walking time of up to 15 minutes from the entrance to a certain booth is not a rarity 😉). However, we want to take a closer look at the #4FFN part of the exhibition, which is where our booth was located.

4YFN stands for “Four Years From Now” and is entirely dedicated to startups from all over the tech industry. The goal is to support startups, investors, and companies to connect and launch new business ventures together.

We were part of the startup corner by Silicon Castles, a tech company builder and strategic business accelerator for technology startups from Salzburg, Austria. We shared the corner with rising tech companies such as Authentic Vision, Natives Waves, and Mimi and seized this opportunity to network and talk with the many interested visitors at our booth.

Pitching & Networking at #MWC22

Besides showcasing our products and services, our main goal was to spread awareness about our CPTC ecosystem and our tokenomics project, with which we want to revolutionize the cultural industry. Our CPTC ecosystem is the first community, rewards, and funding system for culture that taps into DeFi, with the aim to improve funding conditions for artists as well as granting accessibility to art to a broader public.

Our CEO Patrick Tomelitsch also had the opportunity to pitch this project in front of potential investors and clients at an exclusive Travel Tech presentation round and could engage with the audience in a Q&A session afterwards.

He was very happy with the outcome for Cultural Places at the #MWC22: “The recent events clearly showed how important the rise of new technologies and companies applying them is for all of us. The #MWC22 is an aggregator of excellent minds, innovative companies, and ambitious teams. We decided to present our solution, mission and vision there, not only to talk about our product with potential clients, but also to receive valuable feedback and find cooperation partners to help us succeed. We will definitely come back next year!’’

Eventually we had to say “Adiós Barcelona” and are already looking forward to more exciting opportunities at the #MWC23 next year!
